I'm Bjarni, and I became financially free enough to fire my job as a Lawyer for the EU and UN when I was 37.

Having enough money to be able to walk away from your job (or boss/situation) without consequence is being 'Financially Unconstrained' ('FU'), also known as having ‘F*** You Money’.

I am Danish-British, but I grew up around the world, spending most of my childhood in India, Austria, Sri Lanka and the UK. My nomadic adult life has been drifting around The Netherlands, Denmark, France, Malta and now the Czech Republic.

I have a beautiful wife, a wonderful little girl and a cockapoo.

I am a happy dude, especially because I CHOOSE to direct far more of my time and energy to my personal life than I do worrying about work or money! 

But, like most of us, I wasn’t always good with money. Even though I had a successful and well-paid career in the EU and UN, I lived paycheck-to-paycheck throughout most of my adult life, had persistent student debt, and used credit cards to pay for things when the bank account ran dry.

I had a better salary than most, but I was POOR.

I discovered the concept of Financial Independence around 2016 and turned my financial life around, set clear goals, and accelerated towards achieving them with total conviction. Thanks to my ravenous hunger take control over my TIME through financial freedom, I made fast progress in my personal finances.

I was able to ‘retire’ from my career in 2021 after my daughter was born.

Now I choose how to spend my time, and what activities I wish to pursue - including work. I live in my ideal setting, near the mountains and in nature, where I wouldn’t be able to live if I was still following my previous ‘career path’.

The most interesting thing I learned from my own experience is that financial independence is actually within reach of most of us, even those on modest incomes.

The best news about becoming wealthy is that it has nothing to do with being lucky, inheriting money, or finding a secret investment strategy. The road to financial freedom is paved with simple, practical choices and conscious decisions about how you want your future to look.
